Wash and dry all produce. Bring water and a large pinch of @salt{1%tsp} to a boil in a #large pot{}. Mince or grate @garlic{3%cloves}. Halve, peel, and mince @shallot{1%unit}. Finely chop @parsley{¼%cup}. Zest and halve @lemon{1%unit}. Core, seed, and thinly slice @red bell pepper{1%unit}.

Heat a large drizzle of @olive oil{3%tbsp} in a #large pan{} over medium-high heat. Add red bell pepper and cook until lightly caramelized ~{7%minutes}, tossing occasionally. Season with salt and pepper. Remove bell pepper from pan and set aside.

Add @linguine{8%oz} to boiling water and cook until al dente ~{10%minutes}. Drain, reserving ½ cup pasta water.

Heat another large drizzle of olive oil in same pan used for bell pepper over medium heat. Add shallot, garlic, and as much of the @chili flakes{½%tsp} as you like. Cook and toss until softened ~{3%minutes}. Add @shrimp{10%oz} to pan and cook until just opaque ~{2%minutes}. Season with salt and pepper.

Add drained linguine, reserved bell pepper, reserved pasta water, lemon zest, a squeeze of lemon, and @butter{2%tbsp} to pan with shrimp. Toss until butter is melted and shrimp are fully cooked ~{1%minute}. Season with salt and pepper.

Divide shrimp and linguine between plates. Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve.
